Students With A Testimony
S.W.A.T.  (ages 13-18)

Directors: Lewis & Serge-Marie Pierce

"I like the fact that we can talk about anything freely without fear of being judged and the motto is, what goes on in S.W.A.T., stays in S.W.A.T.!"

"Students With A Testimony", otherwise known as S.W.A.T., is the teen ministry at SOGM. Life can be both thrilling and challenging as we grow through transitions. This ministry was designed with the purpose of spiritually equipping our youth and elevating them to new levels of greatness as they grow in Christ. We’ve created a safe place for teenagers to learn of God, be inspired, and have fun. In S.W.A.T. meetings, our teens are encouraged to be themselves, express their unique selves and to know that they are creations of God, "fearfully and wonderfully made."

S.W.A.T. also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, none more noteworthy than our Annual Youth Explosion, typically held in August. The Youth Explosion is a contemporary, weekend-long celebration of Christ, filled with live performances by top artists, workshops, contests, games and teaching of the Word of God. Presenters are nationally recognized artists and from dynamic youth ministries from all over the country. This event gets bigger and better every year as word spreads and teens pack the house. S.W.A.T. continues to transform our youth as we see God's glory being manifest in their lives on a daily basis.

S.W.A.T. events include speaking contests, car washes, creating video commercials, praise dance, singing, 3-on-3 Basketball, fashion shows, CREATION Camp in Pennsylvania, ski trips to the Poconos and a Teen Summit in Willow Valley.

This ministry is the natural progression for youth after Seedlings Children's Church. It is open to all teenagers and new-comers will never feel like outsiders. Weekly SWAT meeting are held on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm and on the last Friday of every month we hold "Friday Night Live" a fun-filled night of games, music, and fellowship opened to all kids 10 - 18 years old at 7 pm.
