Knowing God

One the hardest and easiest things to do is to have a genuine, trusting relationship with God, the creator of the world.   The things that make it hard are feelings of guilt or shame over our own sins and habits, teachings that portray God in a harsh way, and preconceived ideas we’ve all had about what God and a Father are really like.

“But God raised him from the dead.”
Acts 13:30

But Jesus came to change all of that.  Jesus, who is one with God (and therefore a part of God) took on the body and soul of a human being.  He led a sinless life, demonstrated the compassion God has for people and then shed His holy blood in payment for all of the sins of mankind – past, present and future.  That payment allows anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord to be saved – to have a loving relationship with God the Father and to be with Him in heaven when you die.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture says, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:9-11,13

To accept Jesus’s sacrifice and to start your relationship as a child of God, simply pray this prayer out loud to God:

“Dear God, I want to be a part of your family. You said in Your Word that if I acknowledge that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, I would be saved. So God, I declare that I believe You raised Jesus from the dead and I accept Him now as my personal Lord and Savior. I accept salvation from my sin right now.
I am now saved. Jesus is my Lord. Jesus is my Savior. And you are now my heavenly Father. Thank you, Father God, for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me an eternal life with You.  Amen!”

If you have prayed this, CONGRATULATIONS!  You are now, right now, a child of God.  Welcome to the “body of Christ”, the family of all those who have done the same.  Let us know of your decision above.  Then, check out the resources we have so that you can get to know your Heavenly Father better and start your personal relationship with Christ.
